Sorry my posts are a day or 2 late...

I am terribly sorry that a couple of my posts are late but my youngest Aimee has had a very nasty chest infection and me and my other girls have been under the weather as well.  We are all feeling much better and the blog will be on time from now on!

On the 12th day before Christmas......

I went to bed with a new sense of calm, I wasn't going to worry , get upset about mess anymore.  This was Ernie he was fun, and the messier  he was the more the girls liked it anyway!  we awoke to find the usual footprints by the door.

Love finding these it makes it all more magical.

Written on the floor in snow was MERRY XMAS. It looked very pretty and in front of this Ernie was sitting with a letter from Santa!

The letter explained how he had heard ( from Ernie I assume) that Aimee was poorly and that the others were a bit down, so he had sent a special gift to help cheer them up.  He sent  dvdv for the older girls and some chalks for Aimee.

The girls were very pleased and we will be having a movie night tonight to watch the film.  Thank you Ernie and Thank you Santa for making my girls smile !

 I thought after Ernie's antics the day before with the lipstick and the telling off he got that he would behave.  I was mistaken.  He is definitely consistent!

The first thing I saw upon entering my living room was this....

Yes that is loo roll...again!

Ernie had decided to throw loo roll around the living room again!  I must remember to lock the kitchen door at night!

Caught red handed!

When we inspected the tree we found Ernie smug as you like sitting there smiling holding a piece of torn tissue.  We had caught him red handed!  I couldn't help but smile at our jolly little visitor though.  I have decided that getting annoyed at the mess is useless now and I am just going to roll with it.  I will miss this little elf when he has gone!!

Lipstick fun......

We all settled down to watch a film and the girls decided to try to use my make-up. They looked very funny!  At bedtime they tidied away and like good girls went off to bed.  I noticed that they hadn't put one of my lipsticks, but rather than fuss around late at night i decided to put it on the side and that I would put it in it's rightful place in the morning.  BIG mistake!

When I came downstairs in the morning I saw Ernie sitting in the tree with a letter by him again.  Upon reading the letter A feeling of dread went through me and I rushed to the bathroom.  What I saw was so very naughty !  Ernie had taken my lipstick and written ho ho ho merry christmas on the bathroom mirror.

I was a little mad at the mess Ernie had caused and the fact that he had ruined my lipstick!  However when I read his letter properly and saw at the bottom that he had put p.s I love being your elf my heart melted.  We love you to Ernie, even your naughty mischievous behavior!

We said goodnight to Ernie and went to bed as usual.  After Ernie's antics the day before, we were not looking forward to what we might find.

Ernie so far has been a super messy but fun visitor in our house.  We love his mischief and it especially makes the girls laugh, which is always good!

Imagine our surprise and delight when upon coming downstairs this morning we found Ernie sitting on the mantlepiece holding some gifts from him and Santa.

Poppy and Holly got left some lovely sparkly nail foils and Aimee got left some awesome Peppa Pig hairbands.  The girls were very happy with their gifts so thank you Ernie you lovely little elf xx

HO! HO! HO!....

I was finally feeling relaxed about what I would find from Ernie when waking up in the mornings.  Yes he could be a naughty, mischievous and messy little elf, but he could also be a tidy and cute little elf as well.  I was hopeful that he had managed to get the balance just right.

We all blew him a kiss goodnight and went up to bed to get some sleep. 

The next morning upon waking I came downstairs and stopped dead in the living room doorway.  Ernie had been a naughty, naughty elf indeed.  I couldn't believe what I was seeing.  The snow that had come in from the elf door had been thrown around the floor. there were baubles thrown off the tree and all over the floor.  written beside them in snow was HO! HO! HO! in big letters.

 Snow in front of the elf door is always a good sign.

Not only were the decorations all over floor but upon looking at the tree we found Ernie sitting in it tangled up in some ribbon!

A bit late in writing this today as we have been out and about all day.

I went to bed last night feeling a lot better about Ernie and his behaviour and thinking that maybe we had gotten over the messy antics and he had gotten it out of his system.

Once again we had snow and footprints by the elf door so good sign.

Ernie was found chillaxin having a COSTA...well a baby chino to be exact.  You can't deny that he has great taste as COSTA is yummy!

COSTA is definitely a big thumbs up from Ernie.  And so much better than beer!

After tucking Ernie up all cozy in his bed we took ourselves off to the land of nod.  My dreams were filled with the horrors of what I might find in the morning.  After being tied up by the other elves to stop him from being naughty and messy I was expecting to come down to total chaos.

Ernie had gone to make his report to Santa as normal...we know this because there was snow and footprints in front of the elf door again.

Maybe Santa has told Ernie that he needs to be less messy and a bit better behaved, because when I came down in the morning I was not expecting what I found.  Yes there was a little bit of mess but Ernie was being very good.  He had been playing with building blocks and built a nice tower.  He was also sitting with Barbie and playing a tune on the xylophone!  Minnie was watching and from the look of it they had, had a jolly good time!

Ernie has been a great fun house guest.  I really can't wait to see each morning what his mischief might be.

Mischief Managed.....

 So far Ernie's antics have all been rather messy....even his non messy day yesterday had me cleaning up all the snow.  Suffice to say I go to bed with both excitement and trepidation of what to expect when I get up in the morning.

I woke up and mentally prepared myself for the mess I may find......instead I found THIS!!

Ernie was tied up to the TV unit, dangling, and there wasn't any mess or mischief anywhere!

The elves left a note

The note was from Ernie's fellow elves.  They must have heard about how much mischief and mess he was making and tried to help.  I fear however that because he couldn't get up to his tricks yesterday we may be in for a really big surprise tomorrow! I am just hoping that he doesn't have a blow out and go completely crazy!

As mischievous and naughty that Ernie is we wouldn't be without him, we have come to love our little elf visitor!

 We all went to bed feeling excited at what the next days mischief would be.  I have to admit I was also slightly nervous, so far all of Ernie's shenanigans had meant that I had to do a bit of cleaning up after him!
Imagine my surprise when I walked into the living room and found......no mess.  Not a single thing was out of place, not a single bit of silly string, not a thing!

The girls were quite sad at first as they loved finding Ernie's silliness.  Feeling disappointed we went to put the TV on....that's when we found him.

When he comes back through the door snow is often left behind.  This time Ernie brought extra!

I took the girls to school and once again when I came back Ernie was lying in his elf bed, his antics are making him very tired.

 Going to bed is turning into a rather exciting activity for us.  We all go up and eagerly await the morning when we can find out what our mischevious little guest is going to have been up to.

Once again we checked the Elf door and found that Ernie had indeed been through it! The footprints were really clear this time.

We then noticed the Christmas tree.  Ernie had struck again.  He really is a naughty little elf.

There was toilet roll everywhere, but no Ernie in sight.  We hunted and looked everywhere but we couldn't find him.  It was then that we decided to open the curtains and tidy up the mess when low and behold we found him!

Ernie had got himself stuck on the curtain pole wedged into an empty toilet roll tube.  Silly little elf!

I took the girls to school and came home.  I checked the curtain pole and Ernie had vanished.  I was worried for a minute till I checked by the elf door and found Ernie asleep in his bed that the girls had made for him.  All the excitement of the night before and getting stuck in a toilet roll tube must have taken it out of the poor little guy.

We went to bed again excited for where we would find Ernie in the morning.  I am thinking Santa has sent us a particularly mischievous little elf!

Not only did Ernie help himself to a beer, he also went a bit mad with some silly string.  Walking into the living room in the early hours of the morning to go to the loo was not a good experience...I thought we had been invaded by giant spiders when I walked into some silly string!

Ernie is proving to be a very fun and exciting house guest, especially as far as the girls are concerned, I however am finding that he involves a lot of cleaning up after!

We all went to bed excited about what antics our Elf could get up to.  We were not disappointed.  I had hoovered the floor the day before after Ernie came through the elf door, so we were very excited when we saw that there was more snow and footprints there!

Ernie was caught red handed having a marshmallow bath with none other than Minnie Mouse!

He seems to be enjoying himself immensely!!

 As well as leaving candy canes by the bath Ernie also left the girls some in the tree.

 

Ernie is currantly relaxing in his bath and I am sure he will get up to more mischief tonight after he makes his report to Santa!

 Poppy, Holly and Aimee went to bed like good girls and awoke in the morning to find snow in front of the elf door and footprints walking away from it.  it was then that we saw the box under the Christmas tree.

Something has come through the elf door!

It was mummy's turn to have a lie in on this particular Sunday, sadly this would not be the case.  I would like to blame the girls for waking me up to tell me that snow was on the floor and something was under the tree...the truth is I was as excited as they were!

We all sat excitedly as the box was carefully opened and inside was our visitor along with his passport and some letters from Santa.

Santa send 3 letters.  One was to say hello and that he was sending an elf to spend December with us, one was a poem from Ernie and one was a poem about the shelf elf tradition.

So let the fun commence. Will we have a good elf, a naughty elf or a mischievous elf..only time will tell.  We will certainly have fun finding out!
